Our Mission is to find homes for pets and provide shelter to unwanted, or lost animals in Chambers County, Al. We provide programs designed to prevent overpopulation and animal cruelty and encourage responsible pet ownership through education and spay/neuter financial assistance.

Take a dog for a day to the park, take a dog for a week or even a month, getting them out of the shelter and socialized can increase their chances of being adopted.

The Chattahoochee Humane Society is a 501(c)3 Organization.

 

Monetary donations are used to provide a spay/neuter program for our community and extras like, treats, medicines, and medical care for our animals.

In addition to monetary donations we gladly accept donations of towels, bath rugs, bleach, detergent, fabric softener, dish soap, Dog/Cat dry and canned food, and treats.

Need to surrender your pet?

  • Post to Rehoming Pets of Chambers County Facebook Page

  • Email a CLEAR and CURRENT photo of animal and reason for rehoming. CHSREHOME@GMAIL.COM

  • Fill out this form in complete detail (if this is a stray, please just fill out to the best of your ability.

  • Once form is filled and sent back, and you have posted in the group, we will call to schedule you an appointment

  • If a home is found for the animal before your scheduled appointment, please call to cancel. We will try to get your animal into a home or rescue and or provide you with resources to keep the animal.

 

***Please note: Every animal that comes through the door will cost no less than $175 to care for, this does not include daily feeding and care.

If you are surrendering, please consider donating.

Also note that animals that are SPAYED/NEUTERED and UTD on shots are easier to send to rescue.

Before Surrendering, try this

    • Please consider these alternatives to surrendering your pet to the shelter. With the following tools, you can rehome your pet without it ever having to experience the stress of shelter life, which can be very difficult for an animal used to living in a home.

    • Place your pet with someone you know​

    • Use social media to get the word out. Be sure to ask for references before allowing someone to adopt your pet​

    • Visit Rehome. Rehome is a simple and free tool to help you find your pet a forever home. You will upload information about the pet, review applications, and finalize an adoption - all without the pet having to enter the shelter.​

    • Post in this Facebook page​

    • Search for breed-specific rescues​

    • Contact other rescues in our area such as:
