About Chattahoochee Humane Society

 

 

The Chattahoochee Humane Society (CHS) is a proud no-kill animal shelter serving Chambers County and the surrounding community. Our mission is to protect, care for, and advocate for homeless and neglected animals while working to create a compassionate community where every pet has a loving home.

 

Since becoming a no-kill shelter in 2023, we have continued to expand and improve our facility, growing from 32 kennels to over 47, with additional space for puppies, exercise areas, and a dedicated medical intake area for Animal Control Officers. Every animal that comes through our doors receives quality care, compassion, and the chance to find a forever home.

 

Our passionate team of staff and volunteers work tirelessly around the clock to ensure that each animal is treated as if they were already in a home. We prepare pets for adoption by providing medical care, enrichment, socialization, and lots of love.

 

In addition to adoptions, we partner with rescues, fosters, and community members to transport animals to safe placements, provide education on responsible pet ownership, and advocate for spay/neuter initiatives to help reduce overpopulation.

 

At CHS, it’s not just about saving lives it’s about building brighter futures for animals and strengthening the bond between pets and people.
